Canberra winemakers are producing some top notch Chardonnay. Many source their grapes from Tumbarumba which although a small wine growing region has a big reputation for quality. Some excellent Chardonnays are also being grown closer to home in Murrumbateman and Lake George. You won’t find big oak driven wines in the Canberra region. Subtle use of oak and cool climate fruit give us flavours more in the citrus spectrum. Think grapefruit with a touch of nectarine and white peach. Textural, complex and definitely tasty. Wimbaliri, Mada and Eden Road Cullerin Block 71 are a few of the many we love here at Canberra Wine and Spirit Merchants.
