Apera Cask Whisky – Sixth Release 5 year old whisky

Distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2022. The first release sold out rapidly, with the second and third releases a step above! Batch 2 was awarded silver at the 2021 London Spirits Competition. Batch 5 was awarded silver at the 2022 London Spirits Competition.

Marmalade and dried fruit peel combine with hints of walnuts, complex toasted oak, baked pears and vanilla in this Australian whisky. The whisky in this release was distilled and barrelled in the coastal town of Wollongong in 2017. It has been finished in oak casks that were seasoned with 18 year old Seppeltsfield Rare Rich Apera. Made from Palomino and Grenache grapes grown in the Barossa Valley in South Australia, this is the Australian equivalent of Spanish Oloroso Sherry.
