Backbenchers do not have a seat in the ministry and individually have little power to influence policy. Merlot has always taken a backseat compared to more fashionable wines. Although often misunderstood, when carefully crafted in the vineyard and winery, merlot can be a rich, full flavoured, yet smooth and soft wine.

This wine displays a rich spectrum of plum and spiced berry fruits. Wonderful with roast beef, smoked meats and for afternoon tea with fruit cake.
