The 2018 Long Rail Gully Gamay is our first release of this wine. Some 20 year old Merlot vines happily offered themselves up to be top grafted to this wonderful variety.

Hand picked fruit was put as whole bunches into an open fermenter and sealed to undergo carbonic maceration which produced a wine with an amazing lifted nose of cherries and red berries. This technique has also added softness and weight to the mid palate of this lighter style red wine.

Long Rail Gully Gamay is a versatile, vibrant and fragrant drink now wine with juicy fruits and lovely soft tannins. Equally at home with food or just a drink to be enjoyed with laughter.

The Gamay was also given the FMG name as a nod to my late father who was also the father of Long Rail Gully, he would of loved a glass of this wine while telling tall tales and true!
